PULASKI, Ill. — Lloyd "Pete" Pullett, 85, of Pulaski died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at his home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1924, at Pulaski, son of Toby and Catherine McDaniel Pullett.

Pullett worked for the Pulaski County Highway Department until his retirement in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pullett; 10 daughters, Lucille Pullett, Lucy Mae Pullett, Rosa Nesby, Kathleen Lane, Loretta McElmurry, Elizabeth Thomas, Beverly Sims, Cassandra Pullett, Lessie Porter and Melissa Pullett; two sons, Lloyd Pullett Jr. and Steven Pullett; 30 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, a sister and a brother.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. J.T. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., with military honors conducted.
