ULLIN, Ill. -- Lloyd Earl Friedman, 81, of Ullin, formerly of Unity and Anna, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 10, 1924, at Cairo, Ill., son of Arthur and Bessie Giles Friedman. He and Mary Louise Everett were married on July 10, 1946, in Cairo. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2003.
Friedman was a retired mechanic and an Army veteran of World War II, and a former member of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donnie R. Friedman and Vella Friedman of Tamms, Ill.; a granddaughter, Angie and husband, the Rev. Brent Gordon of Anna; two great-grandchildren, Graham and Olivia Gordon of Anna.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
Funeral services for Lloyd E. Friedman will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Gene Hart and the Rev. Brent Gordon officiating.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery Mound City with full military honors given by members of the Pulaski County VFW Post 8891 of Mounds, Ill.
Jones Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Friedman.
