Lizzie Welker

MILLERSVILLE, Mo. -- Susan E. "Lizzie" Welker, 88, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girar-deau.

She was born July 6, 1914, at Grassy, Mo., daughter of William D. and Lucy Quinn Newell. She and Fred O. Welker were married in January 1934. He passed away Dec. 16, 1986.

Mrs. Welker was a member of Christ Gospel Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar and Rosemund Welker and Mike and Carolyn Welker, all of Jackson, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jim Tankersley of Millersville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will be in Old Salem Cemetery near Daisy, Mo.
