Zahner, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy.

He was born June 22, 1910, at Perryville, son of Romanus and Anna Hoffman Zahner. He married Philomene Milliano, who preceded him in death.

Zahner was retired from McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of St. Vincent's Church and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include a daughter, Gayla Scott of Wentzville; two brothers, Ivo and Leroy Zahner of Perryville; two sisters, Selma Loberg and Edna Kirn of Perryville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
