CHARLESTON -- Lindsay Hurley, 79, of Charleston died Saturday, March 8, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 14, 1915, in the Lusk Chapel community of Scott County, son of Charles Elliot and Luella Thompson Hurley.
Hurley had lived in Mississippi County most of his life, and was engaged in farming until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Charleston and Masonic Lodge 407, AF&AM.
He served on the board of directors of Citizens Bank of Charleston, was the a member and past president of the Charleston Kiwanis Club. He had served as 1st District associate judge for Mississippi County for several years.
He and Lois Farmer were married Dec. 31, 1942.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Bonnie Woods of Cape Girardeau, Judy Donovan of Sudbury, Mass., and Peggy Morrow of Charleston; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMickle Funeral Home in Charleston, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Richard Combs officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
