Linder Deimund, 96, of 3120 Independence Street died Sunday, June 27, 1993, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born Sept. 8, 1896, at Apple Creek, the son of Peter H. and Effie Reid Deimund. On June 14, 1933, he married Susie K. Blumer in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Jan. 4, 1985.
He was the owner of Cape Girardeau Sand Company a business he and his father started in 1919 until his retirement in 1985. He served on the North Street Levy District Board and was one of the orginial board members of the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority. He also was of the Methodist denomination.
Survivors include two sons, Linder P. "Sonny" Deimund and Richard Deimund, both of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Ernest Swartz will officiate, and burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
