BERTRAND, Mo. -- Linda F. Wages, 75, of Bertrand died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Deventer, Mo., to Lendell and Mary Slayden Hunt.
Linda moved to Bertrand in 1990 and was a longtime member of Abundant Grace Church. She was of the Baptist belief. Linda attended Bell City Schools and retired from J.C. Penney in St. Louis. After retiring she began baby-sitting and loved those kids just like they were her own. Linda was also a great cook.
She and Winford Wages were married May 6, 1952, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronald Givens.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Randall West of Bridgeton, Mo., Cynthia Givens of East Prairie, Mo.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Shirley Beach of Mayfield, Ky., Carl and Evelyn Hunt of Bell City, Mo., Harold and Welda Hunt of Jonesboro, Ark.; a sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Mike Ellis of Charleston, Mo.; four grandchildren, Christopher West, Matthew West, Carrie Berger, all of St. Ann, Mo., Nicholas Wages of Oran, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Berger, Kaleb Berger, Ashley West, Brian West, Makayla West, all of St. Ann, Seaira and Bhuvana Wages of Oran.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Abundant Grace Church in Bertrand. The pastor, the Rev. Larry Kirby, will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
