FROHNA, Mo. -- Linda R. Verseman, 69, of Frohna died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Erwin T. and Wilma C. Lohmann Mueller. She and Alan E. Verseman were married June 26, 1971. He survives in Frohna.

Linda was a kindergarten teacher. She was baptized, confirmed and attended Salem Lutheran School in Farrar, Missouri. Upon graduation from Perryville (Missouri) High School, she attended Concordia Lutheran Junior College at Concordia, Missouri. Then she went to Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, graduating with a degree in elementary education with a major in math. She then accepted a call to St. Paul Lutheran School in Farmington, Missouri, from 1970 to 1971. After one year, she applied for and accepted a position with the Altenburg School District to teach kindergarten, where she taught from 1971-1978. She resigned and started a family, having three boys. She resumed her teaching career in 1986 at Concordia-Trinity Lutheran School, teaching first grade for one year. She then applied for and was accepted to teach kindergarten in the Altenburg School District. Her goal in teaching was to teach two or three subjects in every sentence, which she did for 35 years.

Linda was a "planner," a champion wife, mother, cook, baker, teacher, bookkeeper for the family, dairy farm wife and lovable grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar.

Survivors include three sons, Aaron (Crystal) Verseman and Ryan (Danielle) Verseman, all of Frohna, and Seth (Bonnie) Verseman of St. Charles, Missouri; two brothers and a sister, Donald (Diann) Mueller of Perryville, Richard (Darlene) Mueller of Columbia, Missouri, and Karla (Roger) Versemann of Perryville; four grandchildren, Addison, Avery, Owen and Olivia Verseman, and expecting one baby granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Education for Altenburg Foundation in support of the Altenburg School District or Salem Lutheran Church.
