SIKESTON -- Funeral for Linda J. Peel of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Dr. Jim Guffie will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Billie Fair. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Peel, 60, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 9, 1938, at Morley, daughter of Crulus and Burnice Smith Mayfield. She and John Glen Peel were married July 26, 1958, at Morley.
Peel was a teacher's aide in special education at Sikeston Junior High School for 12 years. She was a volunteer 23 years at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had taught primary and junior Sunday School classes 44 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Peel of New Madrid, Steven Peel of Greenville, Miss.; her parents of Morley; two sisters, Brenda Wood of Jackson, Sondra Phillips of Scott City; and four grandchildren.
