Linda Jones

Linda Faye Jones, 53, of Newport, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, in a traffic accident in Memphis, Tenn. Her mother, Ruby Rice of Newport, also died.

Jones was born Jan. 27, 1952, in Newport, daughter of Andrew and Ruby Baker Rice. She married David Jones.

She was a hairstylist and worked at Shear Magic.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, D.J. Jones of Scott City, Justin Jones of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Milissa Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Plummer of Newport; a brother, Henry Rice of Bradford, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home, with Billy Ed Morris officiating. Burial will be in Coffeyville Cemetery.
