Linda Lou Hurt, 77, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Landmark Hospital.
She was born July 15, 1938, in Dexter, Missouri, to the late Loy and Ollie Oakley Martin. She and Claude E. Hurt were married June 7, 1958, at Bridgeton, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 16, 2016.
Linda retired from Midwest Tool, and was a very active member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel.
Loving survivors include sons, Mark (Jan) Hurt of Cape Girardeau and Tracy (Deanna) Hurt of Creston, Iowa; a daughter, Michelle (Joseph) Messina of New Lenox, Illinois; brothers, Robert (Jean) Martin of Foristell, Missouri, and Louis (Jackie) Martin of St. Peters, Missouri; a sister, Joyce Fister of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Joseph Messina, Hank (Heather) Hurt, Nicole Messina, Leah Hurt, Jesse Hurt and Austin Hurt; and a great-grandchild, Shane Hurt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Nelda Martin.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Weston Wildauer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel Endowment Fund.
