SIKESTON -- Lillian Yowell, 88, of Jennings, died Tuesday, April 4, 1995, at her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1906, in Kelso, daughter of Albert Clay and Anna Moore Ancell. She and Phillip M. Yowell were married Aug. 23, 1931, in Sikeston.
Yowell was a first grade teacher at Sikeston Public Schools in the late 1920s. She then taught in St. Louis city and county elementary schools and also did private tutoring. She was a member of Jennings United Presbyterian Church 55 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Yowell of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Karen Mayberry of St. Louis, Katherine Hunt of Plympton, Mass.; a brother, Walter Ancell of Sikeston; two grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Buck officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to service time Friday.
