Lillian Sanders, 84, of Scott City died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 5, 1923, near McClure, Ill., daughter of Leo Kerley and Ida Virginia Miller. She was married to Joseph C. Sanders Feb. 4, 1949.
Lillian worked as a secretary for Illmo-Fornfelt High School from 1954 to 1965, and she retired from Cape Grain Co. in 1974 where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church 75 years. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Sanders of Scott City; a daughter, Lillian (Erv) Markhart of Hayden, Idaho; and a son, Don (Terry) Sanders of Scott City. Grandchildren include Lori (Doug) Robert and Mark Morrill of Scott City; Susan (Matthew) Broadhurst of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Chris Morrill of Bartlett, Tenn.; Sarah (Jeremy) Pruden of Scott City; Laura Markhart of Hayden; Neil (Angie) Sanders of Smithville, Mo.; and Lisa (Shawn) Sanford of Scott City. Great-grandchildren include Landon and Lyndsie Robert; Lance and Trent Pruden; Joseph and Megan Sanders; Aleah Morrill; Isabella Markhart, and Jackson Broadhurst.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Kerley and Ida Virginia Miller.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. today at Eisleben Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
