PERKINS -- Funeral for Lillian A. "Skipper" Morduff of Battle Creek, Mich., was held Wednesday at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek. Burial was in Newbre Cemetery.
Morduff died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek.
She was born at Perkins, daughter of George E. and Mildred McNeely Kinder. She first married Lloyd E. Gastain July 27, 1940. He died in 1981. She later married Robert L. Morduff.
She was a graduate of Advance High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University and Argubright Business College.
Morduff worked at Kinder's Drug Store in Advance, and was pianist at Advance United Methodist Church.
The Gastains established and operated the A&W Root Beer business in Cape Girardeau. They later established and operated several laundromats in Battle Creek.
She also worked at Allman TV, WBCK Radio, and taught organ at Grinnell's and Standard Music Co.
Morduff was a member of First United Methodist Church and Battle Creek Chapter 153 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, James Gastain of Battle Creek, Robert Gastain of Wellston, Mich.; a stepson, Michael Morduff of Battle Creek; two sisters, Lola Kinder of Kirkwood, Louise Lewis of Kerrville, Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
