Lillian L. Graden, 88, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, to Albert F. and Laura A. Lueder Maevers.

She and Leonard S. Graden were married Sept. 2, 1948, at Cape Girardeau. They were married 63 years.

Lillian was a graduate of Central High School and attended Steimle Business School. She worked at F.W. Woolworth and was a bookkeeper at International Shoe and Community Daycare Center at evangelical United Church of Christ.

She served as the president of the PTA at Lorimier School and was also an election judge.

Lillian was a longtime member of evangelical United Church of Christ, where she was confirmed in 1936. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and kept the books for the church.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard S. Graden of Cape Girardeau; one son, Larry Wayne Graden (Suzanne) of Brownsburg, Ind.; one daughter, Judy Lynne McLain (Randy) of Cape Girardeau; one grandson, Jeremy Graden (Nicole); two granddaughters, Heather Graden and Katie Zimmer (Kevin); two great-grandchildren, Avery and Leah Graden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lawrence, Frank and Arthur Maevers; two sisters, Hulda Moore and Helen Maevers; one grandson, Colin McLain.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at Ford and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
