Lilla Mae Curnell, 80, of Scott City died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at her home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Dutchtown, to R.A. "Arnold" and Alma Goetz Lape. She married Douglas E. Curnell on March 20, 1954, in Illmo (Scott City). He preceded her in death July 13, 2001.

Lilla worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Early Bird Bowling League.

Survivors include a son, Jeff (Tricia) Curnell of Scott City; a daughter, Barb (Sam) Herndon of Scott City; six grandchildren, Alaina Smith of Hoboken, New Jersey, Kyla (Matthew) Ressel of Scott City, Samuel "Andy" Herndon V of Jackson, Anne Quatmann of Gordonville, Sara Cairns of Cape Girardeau and Becky Desautels of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren, Ella Mae and Logan James Ressel; and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Lape.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
