Lewis Petzoldt, 81, of Frohna, Mo., died Feb. 28, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Altenburg, Mo., son of Oscar and Concordia Lohmann Petzoldt.

He and Louise L. Weber were married June 21, 1958. She preceded him in death Oct. 31, 2012.

Lewis had been a farmer and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg where he held various offices.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters, Earl (Diane) Petzoldt and Earlene (Daryl) Preusser of Altenburg, Donna (Steve) Hadler of Frohna, Dan (Darlene) Petzoldt of Altenburg, Mark (Judy) Petzoldt of Marshall, Mo., Diane (Brent) Petzoldt of Jackson and Ken (Natalie) Petzoldt of St. Louis; fifteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Kevin; one daughter, Verlene; two brothers; two sisters; and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. He will then be taken at 10 a.m. to Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg for a service with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Saxony Lutheran High School.
