SIKESTON -- Lewis "T-Baby" Moore, 49, of Sikeston died Wednesday, June 26, 1997, as a result of a farming accident near Charter Oak.
He was born Oct. 26, 1947, in Drew, Miss., son of Mary D. Moore and L.C. Barker. He graduated from Sikeston High School in 1967 and was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston. He was active in Masonic work and was past master and was serving as junior warden of the Peaceful Lodge #181 District 6. He was also a member of the Disco Riders Club of Sikeston.
He married Barbara Jean Baker on Sept. 26, 1971, and she survives him.
He is also survived by his mother, three daughters, Melissa Baker and Tanya Green, both of Sikeston, and Rebecca Moore of St. Louis; two sons, Lewis Moore III and minister Jason Moore, both of Sikeston; two brothers, Jesse Moore of St. Louis and Nathaniel Moore of Dallas; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with Masonic Rites at 5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Sylvester Morgan, pastor of Travelers Rest church, officiating. Burial will be in The Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
The Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
