MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Lewis Edward Hahn, 73, passed away Monday, July 9, 2001, while hauling hay on the family farm.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Haynes Chapel Congregational Methodist Church near Millersville, Mo. The Revs. Ray Mills and Jerry Sander will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hahn was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Bollinger County, Mo., son of Louis A. and Zenobia Summers Hahn. He and Maxine Sander were married Sept. 27, 1945. She passed away Dec. 25, 1986.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Diane Hahn of Marble Hill; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Herbert McCutcheon of Marble Hill, Vickie Massey of Mineral Point, Mo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Stevens of Marble Hill; three grandchildren, Sherry Lukefahr, Dylan McCutcheon and Brittney Massey; two great-grandchildren, Chelsey Lukefahr and Justin Lukefahr.
Mr. and Mrs. Hahn had lived and farmed at Gravel Hill, Mo., since 1946. He also worked 43 years at the former IXL Handle Manufacturing Co. in Jackson, retiring as plant superintendent in 1990. Since retirement he had helped his son in the David Hahn Excavation Co. and raised cattle.
Mr. Hahn was a lifelong member of Haynes Chapel Church, and was an active deacon. He was a member of Farm Bureau, charter member of Hilltop Church Youth Camp, and was instrumental in establishing the camp.
