LETY E. RUNNELS

Lety Elizabeth Runnels, 77, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Feb. 13, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in the Flatwoods community of Grassy, daughter of Jim and Bessie Cotner Sample. She and Glenn O. "Bunny" Runnels were married March 10, 1937.

Runnels was a retired telephone operator. She was a member of Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers, and attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Glenda Barton and Tish Barnes; a brother, Rufus Sample; two sisters, Lela Collins and Nola Eldridge, all of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park.
