JONESBORO, Ill. -- Leta E. Norris, 85, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her home.
She was born on July 10, 1913, at Anna, daughter of Luther D. and Laura Treece Anderson.
She married George W. Norris on April 21, 1934, at Murphysboro. He died on June 9, 1986.
She worked at Mary Ellen's Gift Shop in Anna for about 20 years.
She was a member of the Tuesday Tea Club and the Salem Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA and other areas of the church.
Survivors include a son, Jim Norris of Villa Park; a daughter, Billy Sue Meng of Napa, Calif.; two sisters, Rosetta Brown of Jonesboro and Luetta Kelley of Cobden; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The Revs. David Eidson and Nancy Carrington Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
