Leston Morrison, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Marble Hill, Mo., to Chester and Maggie Sadler Morrison. He and Virginia Huffman were married Sept. 18, 1946, at Drum, Mo.
Leston served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from Jan. 31, 1942, to Nov. 21, 1945.
He was a member of VFW Post 3838 more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Darrell Morrison (Ruth Anne) of Whitewater, Rodger Morrison (Brenda) of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Pamela Goodson (fiance Stephen Weller) of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Veronica (Matt) of Whitewater, Anthony of Springfield, Mo., Dereck (friend Maegen) of Whitewater, George (Erin) of South Carolina, William of Huntsville; four great-grandchildren, Kolton, Michael, Nicholas and Evan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nancy Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery at Marble Hill, Mo., with full military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard and Delta Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice.
