PUXICO -- Lestie O'Neal, 92, of Puxico died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born March 31, 1906, near Puxico, son of James Allen and Cordelia Williams O'Neal. He and Minnie Mossman were married March 3, 1927, at Puxico. She died May 9, 1996.
O'Neal was a retired farmer and timber worker. He lived near Puxico all his life, and attended Corinth General Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Russell O'Neal of Dudley, Freeman O'Neal of Wappapello, Gene O'Neal of Puxico; five daughters, Lois Caldwell and Fernie Julius of Puxico, Virginia Spears of Advance, Helen Voss of St. Louis, Loreda Janson of Dexter; a brother, Levi "Doc" O'Neal of Clarkston, Mich.; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three sisters, and three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery.
