JACKSON -- Lester Statler, 91, of Jackson died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1995, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 10, 1904, at Lixville, son of Louis W. and Emma Conrad Statler.

He first married Mildred Heinberg and she preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1966.

He then married Donna Stovall on June 16, 1973. She preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1987.

He is survived by a daughter, Jane Ann Shulz of St. Louis; a brother, Hershel Statler, and a sister, Mysie Keene, both of Jackson; and two grandchildren.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He moved to Jackson in 1936 from Cape Girardeau and was co-owner of Statler and Statler Plumbing and Heating from 1944 to 1948. For the next 36 years, he owned the Statler Construction Co. in Jackson.

He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Scott Lohse officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
