MORLEY -- Lester O. Mayfield, 89, of Morley died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
He was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Marble Hill, son of John Franklin and Nannie Mayfield Mayfield. He married Bessie Ellen Purdy on Oct. 25, 1935. She died April 7, 1982. He married Irene Matthews Nov. 2, 1984. She survives.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Morley Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Gene Mayfield of Sikeston; a daughter, Doris Barnes of St. Charles; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and grandson.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at Blanchard Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Pangburn officiating.
Burial will be at the New Morley Cemetery.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
