ADVANCE -- Lester L. Skelton, 75, of Advance died Dec. 27, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 29, 1915, to the late Percy H. and Cora Belle Cox Skelton in Arsenal Island-Rock Island, Ill.
Skelton was a welder with the John Deere Corp. for many years and was also a general laborer.
He married Dorothy Tonning, who preceded him in death in 1950. He later married Mary A. Savage Glenn on June 30, 1956 at Green Rock, Ill.
In addition to his wife, Skelton is survived by a son, William Skelton of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Mary Skelton of Sioux City, Iowa, and Helen Goettsch of Macuoketa, Iowa; three brothers, Guy Skelton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Raymond Skelton of Colona, Ill., and Lyford Skelton of Florissant, Colo.; three sisters, Dorothy Power of Silvis, Ill., Grace Wongstrom of Clairmont, Fla., and Irene Swarts of Moline, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating.
Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
