PERRYVILLE -- Lester T. "Bones" Kiefer, 75, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Perryville, son of Andrew and Albertine Annie Feltz Kiefer. He and Ella Ruth Graff were married June 3, 1950.
Kiefer was a carpenter. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, and a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Roger and Gerald Kiefer of Perryville, Ronald Kiefer of Minnith; two daughters, Phyllis Kiefer of Lincoln, Neb., Peggy Kiefer of Perryville; two sisters, Gladys Tucker and Mildred Mitchell of Perryville; three brothers, Melvin, Lloyd and Harvey Kiefer, all of Perryville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and granddaughter.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-9:40 a.m. The parish wake is at 7:30 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
