LESTER BROWN

PERRYVILLE -- Lester J. Brown, 69, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 11, 1930, at Perryville, son of Moritz J. and Ellen Doll Brown. He and Juanita Jones were married May 11, 1954.

Brown was a heavy equipment operator at Tower Rock and had farmed. He was a member of AmVets Post 94 and American Legion Post 133. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Rita Jokerst, Lettye Ranta and Donna Favier of Perryville, Tammy Dillow of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; a son, Jim Brown of Perryville; a brother, Clyde Brown of Perryville; four sisters, Gladys Riney and Delores Martens of Perryville, Jean Funk of St. Louis, Wanda Boxdorfer of Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until service time. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight, followed by the American Legion wake at 7:15.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
