CHARLESTON -- Leroy Shew, 84, of Charleston died Friday, July 7, 1995, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Wyatt, son of Eldridge and Emma Mehler Shew.
He married Eunice Vowels in 1932. She preceded him in death. He then married Emma Burk in 1974. She survives.
He was a retired farmer and landowner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, Kiwanis Club and a charter member of the Mississippi County Health Department.
Survivors include a son, Alan Shew of Florissant; stepsons, Emmett Burke and Jim Burke, both of Charleston; daughters, Ann Stocking of Yuma, Ariz., and Donna Acreback of Arlington, Texas; stepdaughters, Jane Shew of Florissant and Martha Ellen Black of Charleston; a brother, Orval Shew of Wyatt; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Charleston, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
