LeRoy Dannenmueller, 87, of Kelso, Mo., passed away Saturday Dec. 29, 2012, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born in Oran, Mo., on June 17, 1925, the son of Albert and Rosalia Welter Dannenmueller. He and Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Heisserer were married May 25, 1948, in Kelso. She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2006.
LeRoy was a lifelong farmer and worked at Atlas Plastics in Cape Girardeau for 21 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City.
Survivors include four sons, Donald (Deborah), Cletus (Tina) and Dale (Mary) Dannenmueller of Kelso and Richard Dannenmueller of Horn Lake, Miss.; a daughter, Lynn (Oral) Payne of Kelso; one brother, Alfred Dannenmueller of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four sisters, Viola Dirnberger of Oran; Lavanna LeGrand of Kelso.; Bert Lloyd of St. Peters, Mo., and Mary Ann Dannenmueller of Oran; 21 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son; a daughter; a brother; two sisters; a granddaughter; and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, by the Rev. Oliver Clavin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association.
