SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Leonard Whertwine, 88, of Sedgewickville died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at his home.
He was born Sept. 11, 1919, at Fredericksburg, Mo., son of Oscar and Ella Pollex Whertwine. He and Helen Lorene "Lorraine" Waggoner were married Dec. 24, 1945, in St. Louis. She died March 5, 2007.
Whertwine retired as a mechanic with Trail Mobile Trailer Co.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a nephew and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sedgewickville.
