DELTA -- Leonard W. Dalton, 79, of Delta, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 9, 1912, at Rumbranch in Cape Girardeau County, son of William and Sudie Gunn Dalton. He and Nelle Rhodes were married Oct. 9, 1933, at Herrin, Ill.
Dalton was a retired deputy sheriff, and past county chairman of ASCS. He was a member and past president of Delta R-5 School District, Whitewater United Methodist Church, and Whitewater Masonic Lodge 417 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, William Dalton of Festus, Darris Dalton of Jackson, A. Max Dalton of Delta, L. Wayne Dalton of Brownwood, Texas; three daughters, Nelda Crader of Advance, Glenda Schuh of Festus, Suda Crawford of Manchester; a sister, Altha Weinacht of Yucca Valley, Calif.; 20 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Virgil Bunch will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 by Whitewater Lodge.
