Leonard Fritz Moore, 99, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Delta to Charles and Anna Bock Moore. He and Hulda L. Maevers were married Nov. 4, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. She died Jan. 22, 2006.
Moore was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
He worked at International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau and at Florsheim Shoe Co., retiring in 1979. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include two sons, Albert C. (Carolyn) Moore of Cape Girardeau, Frank L. (Betty) Moore of Cobden, Ill.; two daughters, Jean Lewis of Benton, Mo., and Mary A. (Paul) Robertson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter; eight brothers; four sisters; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with full military honors by Missouri Honor Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Evangelical United Church of Christ or Lutheran Home Hospice.
