JACKSON -- Leonard C. Hanners of Jackson died Saturday, May 23, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was 67.

He was born Oct. 14, 1930, at Arbor, son of Mose and Maggie Killian Hanners. He married Dorothy Cook July 4, 1951, at Corning, Ark. She survives.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a machine operator for 25 years at General Foods in Kankakee, Ill., retiring in 1986. He was a resident of Kankakee for 47 years before moving to Jackson in 1991.

He attended First Assembly of God Church in Jackson.

Also surviving are a son, Ron Hanners of Mowequa, Ill., and a sister, Lola Wright of Van Buren, Ark.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dean Heady, Jimmie Fulbright and Diana Cook officiating.

Burial will be at Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus in Bollinger County.
