HOLCOMB, Mo. -- Funeral for Leonard Blanton of Holcomb was held Monday at McDaniel Funeral Home in Arbyrd, Mo. The Rev. Kevin Morris officiated. Burial was in Memorial Gardens at Kennett, Mo.
Blanton, 77, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
He was born July 6, 1923, at Campbell, Mo., son of Iler and Ella Wicker Blanton. He and Luveda Bechtel were married Dec. 24, 1945, in Piggott, Ark.
Blanton served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Carol Blanton of Scott City, Mo.; three daughters, Sandy Walker, Donna and Pam Blanton, all of Holcomb; three brothers, Iler and Fred Blanton of Holcomb, Earl Blanton of Piedmont, Mo.; three sisters, Sally Beachum of Plymouth, Mich., Betty Tow of St. Louis, Martha Waynick of Holcomb; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
