Mary "Leona" Kurre, 94, of Friedheim passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1917, in Laflin, Mo., daughter of Herman and Rosa Idalia Martin Riehn. She and Fred W. Kurre were married Oct. 11, 1937, in Jackson. He passed away after 67 years of marriage on Feb. 19, 2004.
Leona was a former member of Old Salem Methodist Church until it ceased to continue and then changed her membership to New Salem Methodist Church at Daisy.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Clyde Bill) Brune of Sedgewickville, Mo.; two grandsons, Douglas (Carolyn) Brune and Stephen D. (Angela) Brune, both of Sedgewickville; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Courtney and Tyler Brune and Ashley Koerber.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Schuette, Ruby Loos, Opal Wills and Lillie D. Wills; and a brother, Hubert Riehn.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doug McCullen officiating.
Interment will be in New Salem Cemetery near Daisy.
