ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Leona E. Kaempfe, 85, of Roseville, Minn., formerly of Altenburg, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Presbyterian Homes of Roseville. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Altenburg, daughter of the late Rudolf F. and Christina Mueller Weber. She and Arnold M. F. Kaempfe were married June 20, 1948. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2007...

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Leona E. Kaempfe, 85, of Roseville, Minn., formerly of Altenburg, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Presbyterian Homes of Roseville.

She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Altenburg, daughter of the late Rudolf F. and Christina Mueller Weber. She and Arnold M. F. Kaempfe were married June 20, 1948. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and DeVon Lark of Roseville, Martha Kaempfe and Dayvid Schultz of Chicago; four grandchildren, Peter (Jennifer), Matthew and Christina Lark, and Anna Kaempfe Schultz (Antonio Herrera). She is also survived by beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kaempfe worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid charter member, docent for Perry County Lutheran Historical Society, LWML, American Postal Workers Union, Altenburg Lions Club and American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Edwin and Wilmer Weber; and two sisters, Elda Hunt and Viola Boehme.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Steven Dressler and Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Lutheran Heritage Center or Trinity Ladies Aid.
