SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Leona Ellis, 72, of Sedgewickville passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at her home.
She was born April 21, 1939, in Millersville, daughter of Tony Otto and Alma Lou Fulbright Ates. When Leona was 2 her father passed away and her mother married Albert Kistner, who raised her as his own. She and Jerry Ellis were married May 17, 1957.
Leona was a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two sons, Gregory (Mary) Ellis and Bryan Ellis of Sedgewickville; a daughter, Pam (Ronald) Walther of Jackson; a brother, Alan (Glenda) Kistner of Millersville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, sons Anthony and Patrick, and brother L.B. Ates.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., with the Revs. Greg Dowler, Robert Graham and Stan Hargis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sedgewickville.
