Leon August Westrich, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 10, 1925, in Kelso, Mo., son of Albert J. and Estella Enderle Westrich.
He was married to Hermina A. Frank on Oct. 21, 1950, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Westrich farmed until he became disabled and later he became an insurance salesman.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Knights of Columbus.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Thomas Westrich of Ballwin, Mo., and David Westrich of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Patricia Heisserer and Carolyn Westrich, both of Cape Girardeau, and Judy Spaeth of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Chester J. Westrich of Grey Eagle, Minn., and Alfred Westrich of Kelso; three sisters, Marie LeGrand of Sebring, Fla., Vera Redfern of Chaffee, Mo., and Alma Heisserer of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and a stepgrandson.
He was preceded by a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, with parish prayers at 7 and the Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military rites.
