Leon Wayne Tuschhoff, 83, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Joseph D. and Lucy Petzoldt Tuschhoff.
Leon was a 1956 graduate of Jackson High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1962.
He attended St. Mark Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Leon owned and operated Jackson Implement for many years.
His greatest joys were his daughters and grandchildren. Leon was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and fisherman. He was affectionately known as "Bubba" to his family and friends.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Teresa (Jennifer DeBell) Tuschhoff of Denver, Colorado, and Traci (Eli) Branscum of St. Louis; and three grandchildren, Brynnley, Blane and Colby Branscum.
Also surviving are four brothers, Clayton (Stella) Tuschoff of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Garry (Emalie) Tuschoff of Palestine, Texas; Ronnie (the late Carole) Tuschhoff of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and Lonnie (Sharon) Tuschhoff of Altenburg, Missouri.
Also surviving is a cousin, Jerry Petzoldt of Jackson, who Leon thought of as a brother.
He was preceded in death by a son, Travis; his parents and a brother, Ray.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Berry officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Cardinals Care in St. Louis and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
