He was born Nov. 26, 1922, in the state of Mississippi, son of Levi and Cora Virginia Bogan Monroe.

Monroe was retired from Stovall Construction Co.

Survivors include a sister, Willie Upton of Gloster, Miss.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mark Wilkerson will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to service time.
