Leola Poole, 100, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at Villas of Jackson.
She was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Hickman County, Kentucky, to William and Nettie Johnston Evans. Leola and Clifton Poole were married Oct. 7, 1939, in Charleston, Missouri. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 2004.
She attended Shawnee Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family and many friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Joan Hodges of Cape Girardeau and Linda DeFord of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Leola was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Clifton; brothers, William "Bill" Evans Jr., and James Prather Thomas; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with pastor Don Estes officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
