CROSSTOWN -- Leola Marie Clifton, 89, of Crosstown, died Monday, May 30, 1994, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 25, 1904, in Perry County, daughter of John George and Nancy Votau Klobe. She and Lloyd Clifton were married Dec. 27, 1922, in Corning, Ark. He died Sept. 21, 1984.
Many years ago she was a telephone switchboard operator here. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Don Clifton of Crosstown; two daughters, Audrey Sherman of St. Louis, Constance Booth of Miami, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and on Wednesday from 6:30-9 a.m.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Church, with the Rev. Alvin Mathes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
