SIKESTON -- Leola Huie Ruffin, 87, of Sikeston, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 19, 1912 at Choctaw, Ark., to Elisha R. and Martha McGehee Huie.
She was married to Howard P. Ruffin May 31, 1936 in Sikeston. He preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1975.
Ruffin was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston. She was a member of the Extension Club in Kewanee, and she also worked in the school system in Oran.
She attended Harding College in Searcy, Ark.
She is survived by three sons, Huie Ruffin of Farmington, Bob Ruffin of Columbia, S.C., and Col. Steven Ruffin of Bellbrook, Ohio; three daughters, Paula Ronald of Sugar Land, Texas, Margaret Kelley of Lexington, S.C., and Saralyn Boyer of Sikeston; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with the Revs. Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.
The burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Morley.
