CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Leodies Robinson of Charleston will be held t 1 p.m. today at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. William Watson will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Robinson, 75, died Sunday, June 13, 1993, at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born May 22, 1918, in Tibbs, Miss., daughter of Richard and Lurah McEluaine Gaines. She and Tommie Robinson were married Aug. 17, 1942. He died Aug. 26, 1992.
Robinson was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Deventer, where she was clerk, Sunday School teacher, and served on the Mother Board and Usher Board. She was a member of Mississippi County Community Churches, NAACP, and Queen Esther Chapter 17 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Robinson of Sikeston, Tommy Robinson Jr. of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight daughters, Daisy Harris of Cape Girardeau, Bessie Gordon of Lansing, Mich., Etha Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., Lillie Florence of Sikeston, Rosa Barfield of Chicago, Barbara Griffin of Oak Park, Ill., Joyce Robinson of Portage, Mich., Ceola Morris of Charleston; three brothers, J.C. Gaines of Charleston, Eddie Gaines of Chicago, Johnnie Gaines of East St. Louis, Ill.; two sisters, Alberta Burrage of Battle Creek, Lillie Duffie of Charleston; 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
