PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leo Thomas Klump, 81, of Perryville died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Perryville, to Cletus E. and Stella B. Sutterer Klump. He and Betty Blechle were married May 14, 1960, in Perryville.

Leo was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean conflict.

He was owner/operator of Pete and Leo's Appliance 55 years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and also served as an usher. He was also a member of American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282. He bowled on the Thursday Night Men's League and was involved with Boy Scouts, as well as many St. Vincent School activities.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Klump of Perryville; six sons, John (Dianne) Klump of Perryville, Jamie (Angie) Klump of Owensboro, Ky., Jeff (Michele) Klump of Houston, Joe Klump of Perryville, Steve (Andrea) Klump of Overland Park, Kan., Matt (Amy) Klump of Farmington, Mo.; four daughters, Terri (Jim) Peck of Fort Mill, S.C., Renee (Glen) Brueckner, Susan (Darren) Verseman, Sara (Jim) Hennemann, all of Perryville; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin and Roger Klump of St. Louis; three sisters, Mary Lou Molloy and Dorothy Fluegel of St. Louis, Shirley Whittard of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Hilary Klump; and a sister, Kathleen Carron.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church. A VFW service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus will be at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133 and the Delta Team.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to St. Vincent High School gym renovations.
