Leo R. "Mickey" Garrett, 77, of Scott City left his earthly home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 27, 2010.
He was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Hamilton, Mont., to Leo Alfred and Viola Isabelle Bacon Garrett. He and Deborah Lea Chasse were married May 8, 1984, in Biddeford, Maine. She died July 8, 2003.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean conflict.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Garrett of Springville, Tenn., Shawn White of Springvale, Maine; a daughter, Tonia Russell of Springville; a daughter-in-law, Faye Garrett of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Danny (Jenny Blankenship) Garrett of Cape Girardeau, Chastity (Kenny) Bradfield of Scott City, Tonya (Rich) Brandon of Springfield, Mo., Brian Garrett of Foley, Mo., Melissa Reed of Iren, Tenn.; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was the beloved uncle of Sharon (Mike) Henry Martin and Ruthanne (Weldon) Henry Crook of Scott City. He leaves behind numerous great-nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to time of service today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Gregg Fina officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
