Leo Baker

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leo Levon Baker, 75, of Perryville died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Hoxie, Ark., son of Leo Lincoln and Mabel Perryman Baker. He and Kathryn Fassold were married Jan. 25, 1969.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lana (Dennis) Cooper and Renea (Dennis) Bohnert; and a son, David (Jennifer) Baker, all of Perryville; four sisters and three brothers, Novella Bradshaw of North Carolina, Frieda Handley of Shreveport, La., Earl Dale Baker of Panama City, Fla., Jesse Baker and Linda Middleton of Vicksburg, Miss., Phyllis Johnson of Conyers, Ga., Truel Baker of Black Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; Brooke, Mitchell and Leah Picou, Nicolette, Brett, and Jarrett Baker, Lindsay, Ethan, Alexandria and Trevor Bohnert.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Baker was a teacher and coach at Perryville High School. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 133.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Friedenberg Cemetery.

Memorial preference to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund or Church.
