Lena Marie Johnston, 83, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Millersville, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born April 3, 1936, in Neelys Landing to Ernest and Ava Marie Rumfelt Cathcart. She and Samuel Isaiah Johnston Sr. were married July 2, 1955, at Sedgewickville, Missouri.

She was a cook at Fish Boat and Wayside restaurants in Jackson.

She was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Isaiah Johnston Sr. of Cape Girardeau; son, Samuel Isaiah (Jill) Johnston Jr. of Jackson; daughters, Cathy Marie Littleton of Oak Ridge and Lisa (Warren) Jarvis of Jackson; brother, Don Cathcart of Oak Ridge; half brother, Troy Hollifield; sister, Dorothy (Jerry) Rowlan of Bonne Terre, Missouri; half sister, Jerry Briggs of Oregon; grandchildren, Hannah (Jeremiah) Shaw, Sarah (Joe) Meyer, Amanda Littleton and Summer Johnston; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Cathcart; and three sisters, Mary Loos, Margie Stroder and Betty Joan Pickens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Philip Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Cemetery in Marble Hill.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
