SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Lela Martin of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim Guffie will officiate, with burial in Sikeston City Cemetery.

Martin, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 27, 1916, at Fredericktown, daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Stacy. She married Rex Martin, who died May 6, 1968.

Martin had been a legal secretary at the Blanton law firm. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was the story lady at KSIM Radio.

Survivors include a son, David Martin of Maryland Heights; a daughter, Jan Thompson of Chesterfield; a brother, James Stacy of Clearwater, Fla.; a grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
